An exciting opportunity has arisen to have a Learning Disability Specialist Nurse in our trust, to further enhance our safeguarding service.
We are looking for a registered nurse with excellent communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude, who is committed to improving the experience of patients with a learning disability and safeguarding needs in our hospital.
You will be supporting staff to enable them to facilitate open and easy access to hospital services for people with learning disabilities, promoting reasonable adjustments.
The role will include the post holder having an effective liaison with, and the Learning Disability Team at the Local Authority.
The post holder will be expected to be a participant in the Learning Disability Mortality review process (LeDeR).
The role will include the provision of awareness training for staff on Learning Disability, MCA, DoLS and the new Liberty Protection Safeguard process, as well as providing front line advice to staff on mental capacity issues and Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS).
You will be working very closely with the Head of Safeguarding Adults and the Safeguarding Administrators.
