PAEDIATRIC DIABETES NURSE SPECIALIST
BAND 6 / 7 Depending on experience
Diploma in Paediatric Diabetes Management Essential
Full Time 35 hours per week
Set Days: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 08.00-17.00 & Friday 08.00-18.00
We are seeking a motivated, dynamic and forward thinking Specialist Nurse with a wide range of experience in diabetes to join our team. This post offers a unique opportunity to work along side medical colleagues to develop our service. You will need to act as a resource on the management and treatment of diabetes in childhood for patients, carers and healthcare professionals and develop strong relationships with both children and their families. Although based within the hospital our integrated approach to paediatric diabetes management means that the post holder will work closely with the community paediatric diabetes nurse specialist, cross covering as necessary, to ensure a seamless service for all children and young people with diabetes.
The successful applicant will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a detailed knowledge of paediatric diabetes, a proven interest in education and training and be able to work both independently and within a team. Current driving licence is essential.
